The trancemasters of Daft Punk may be exploring other avenues these days, but this weekend, a previously-unreleased 1994 track came back to haunt them. Scottish label Soma discovered the hypnotic track, called “Drive,” recorded over an old tape belonging to one of band member’s parents. It was originally sent out with “Rollin” and Scratchin,” but got shelved for a later date and, eventually lost. After standing around in awed silence for awhile, Soma execs clipped the track’s wings on BBC Radio 1, and plan to include it in an upcoming compilation album.
